Nicholas
Leigh is a contemporary landscape painter. He was born in
Cumbria in 1982, where he now lives since his studies at Leeds
College of Art and Design and Loughborough University.
His
paintings reflect the experience of being in the landscape,
which are often dramatic images of mountains and bold cityscapes.
They convey the fleeting effect of light with attention to
colour and abstract painterly processes, mixed with photorealist
impressions, to give a hightened sense of feel and reality,
to scenes from the natural world and urban environments.
He
is now a practising artist, working mainly in oils and other
mixed media, and has undertaken a number of private commissions,
as well as producing paintings for exhibition.
